Our Thoughts: Pleased

We are glad to see the positive efforts that Rockdale County Public Schools cabinet members are making to cut some major expenses but still preserve the mission of educating our children.

According to projections janitorial services currently run $4.3 million dollars a year.

Chief Financial Officer Lee Davis recently presented to the board a recommendation in regards to janitorial services that had three options.

If you missed the story in regards to these options you can read it by visiting rockdalenews.com.

We endorse the first option that calls for complete outsourcing of janitorial services; this would save the school system $2.45 million dollars over 5 years.

Again we commend the staff of the Rockdale County Schools for their positive recommendations of savings during these lean tax producing years.
