The Loganville and surrounding community came out to line the streets of Ga. Highway 78 Tuesday afternoon to honor the sacrifice of Air Force Maj. Walter David Gray.

Gray, a 1992 Loganville High School graduate, was killed in Afghanistan by a suicide attacker on Aug. 8. 

Gray's funeral was on Aug. 17 at his home base in Colorado. A memorial service was conducted at 6 p.m.
on Tuesday, Aug. 21, at the First Baptist Church of Loganville on Tom Brewer Road.

His family, including his wife and three children, were in Loganville for the service and drove down Highway 78 to the church.

Gray will finally be laid to rest on Aug. 24 at Arlington National Cemetery.
