The Rockdale County School Board made a wise decision last week as they voted unanimously to name the new Rockdale County High School gymnasium after an outstanding community leader and long-time teacher, coach and mentor to the children of Rockdale County - Coach Cleveland Stroud.

Among his many accomplishments, Coach Stroud helped lead the county through a period of school integration.

In choosing Stroud, the school board chose a man of the highest moral character and a true gentleman.
