The Walmart in Conyers was filled with the beaming faces of children as they picked out their Christmas gifts and toys with the help of Conyers police, Rockdale County Sheriff's Office deputies, and Georgia Bureau of Investigations agents for the Conyers Police Department's fifth annual Shop with a Cop event on Saturday.

The event raised $12,000 with donations from local businesses and residents, who really came through in the last two weeks of fundraising, said organizer CPD Officer Shyra Hardwick. That allowed about 113 children to have a brighter Christmas season this year - the most families to be served since the program was started in 2008 by Sgt. Greg Carson.

Here are a few scenes.
