Saturday mornings would find my brothers and I glued to the weekly episode of the Lone Ranger and Tonto. A gang of villains would fire their guns and stampede toward dusty little towns. Folks would scurry out of sight. Someone would flag down the Lone Ranger and Tonto. They would race in as their trademark tune would play. The bad guys would surrender, the townsfolk would rejoice. Within an hour, safety would be restored.
