Garden Club installs officers
The Conyers Garden Club met March 12 at Ruby Tuesday's and celebrated the installation their new officers for two-year terms.
Conyers Pilot Club Share Pilot Night
The Pilot Club of Conyers celebrated the annual Share Pilot Program during its Thursday night meeting at Conyers Presbyterian where donations were given to local groups and nonprofits supporting work in brain-related injuries and disorders.

Olde Town Conyers kicked off St. Patrick's Day weekend festivities with the 32nd annual World's Fastest Growing St. Patrick's Day parade and 0.1 mile World's Shortest Endurance Run on Friday afternoon. US Air Force Academy Band free concert Mar. 22
The Conyers Rockdale Council for the Arts and the Heritage High School Band are sponsoring a free concert by the United States Air Force Academy Band on March 22, at 7:30 p.m. The show will be held at the Heritage High School Auditorium. SSEMC donates to Honor Flight Conyers
Snapping Shoals EMC recently donated $5,000 to the Honor Flight Conyers program, which provides free day trips for World War II veterans to see monuments in Washington D.C.
Race Against Violence donates
The Race Against Violence, held in October 2012, raised about $11,000, most of which was donated to Project ReNeWal, the domestic violence shelter for women and children serving Rockdale, Newton and Walton Counties. The shelter building was flooded and damaged by a malfunctioning sprinkler which dumped 18,000 gallons of water and ruined all the shelter's donated supplies for families. A tree grows at Peeks Chapel
Peek's Chapel Elementary School was the recipient of a Making the Shade Grant from the Georgia Forestry Commission. This grant enables the school to plant trees on the playground and other areas of the school campus. Business partners and sponsors in the community include: Arbor Equity Inc., Kip Hunter, Peek's Chapel Art Classes, Rockdale Public Works, Rockdale Extension Service, Snapping Shoals EMC, Upper Ocmulgee RC&D.

Empty Bowls at Shoal Creek Elementary
Shoal Creek Elementary recently held an Empty Bowls dinner fundraiser as a school wide service project involving students, clubs, staff and partners in education. Participants purchased meals served in bowls created by students that the participants could keep. Proceeds went to Rockdale Emergency Relief our local food pantry.
