Booby Ride, Car Show, Costume Party

This weekend was packed with local events ranging from runs, walks, rides, cookoffs, costume parties, fall festivals and more. Here are a few scenes from Saturday's Booby Ride and Chili Cookoff fundraiser for breast cancer awareness by the Kimberley Chance Atkins Foundation, Rockdale Career Academy's Cruising for Careers car show and fall festival, and the Rockdale Cares costume party at the Our Place facility for developmentally disabled adults.

Haircuts for the Homeless

Over the last month families residing at Phoenix Pass transitional housing for homeless women and children were treated to complimentary hair services provided by Salon Centerfold located next to Kroger on Ga. Highway 138. The salon was honored by Phoenix Pass for "improving the lives of homeless women and children in our community." Salon Centerfold owner Britani Blouin and her staff have provided services for over 10 Phoenix Pass residents.

New members inducted into Rotary

Shoal Creek Elementary recently held an Empty Bowls dinner fundraiser as a school wide service project involving students, clubs, staff and partners in education.
