The Rockdale Medical Center hosted 168 people at its fifth annual Red Hot and Healthy luncheon and fashion show "fun"raiser on Feb. 19 to garner attention for heart disease. Among the local "celebrity" models were Dr. Lisa Gillespie, Judge Nancy Bills, Dr. Michael Manning and Dr. George Okafor, who strutted their stuff in spring fashions from Belk’s. Sheriff Jeff Wigington and School Board member Darlene Hotchkiss were among the various community leaders that made up the volunteer wait staff. RMC CEO Bryan Dearing emceed the event with Elvis (RMC’s security manager Ben Mance), performing a rousing set for the grand finale. Proceeds from the event will go to community heart disease education.
