SEATTLE - Rockdale Magnet School sophomore Candace Hill was already the fastest high school girl in the country and now she's the fastest all-time after breaking the national record for the 100 meter dash with a time of 10.98 seconds at the Brooks PR Invitational in Seattle.

Candace Hill hopes to raise money for World Youth Championships

Candace Hill, literally the fastest girl in the world at the age of 16, is looking to raise $5,000 to finance her trip allowing her to compete in the World Youth Championships which begin July 15 in Cali, Colombia and end July 19. She recently was named the Gatorade Georgia Girls Track and Field Athlete of the Year for the second consecutive year.

The track program at Rockdale County had a great season. It began with an individual by the name of Candace Hill. Candace has been unbelievable the past two years. Candace has won 88 races in a row. She has set the county, region and state records two years in a row. She won the Mobile Meet of Champions two years in a row. She is the fastest track runner in the history of track and field in the state of Georgia. Candace won the Golden West track classic last summer and she also won the New Balance Outdoors National Championship ...

A year gone by: Review of RCHS, Salem, Heritage athletics this past year

What a difference a year makes. Freshmen become sophomores, sophomores become juniors and juniors become seniors. With that caveat is a revolving door of athletes and coaches that come together to reach a common goal: win. Rockdale County High School claimed the Class AAAAAA state title just one week ago from Saturday taking first place with a final score of 53. After a season marred with injuries early on, the Bulldogs were fully healthy when it all mattered and they took what they had been working for since late last year.
