Legendary Coach Stroud honored

Cleveland Stroud was the first black head coach at Rockdale County High School. He's known for his integrity, something that showed after Stroud reported to the Georgia High School Association that one of his players on the 1987 state championship was ineligible to play because of his grades. The honorable act forced GHSA to strip Rockdale of its 1987 state championship.

Your Majesti is headed to UGA

Senior Rockdale Magnet School for Science and Technology Student Majesti Bass signs her letter of intent to play collegiate level volleyball with the University of Georgia. Bass has won numerous athletic awards during her time playing for the Rockdale County High School varsity volleyball team and says that she's really excited to finally make her commitment to UGA official.

Q&A: King takes over Rockdale basketball

Tyrone King will take over as Rockdale County basketball head coach this season after serving as an assistant under former coach Al Williams last year. The Bulldogs are coming off a 10-17 (5-7 region) season that ended in a first round exit in the state playoffs, but that team was young and King thinks this year the team could win state.

Rockdale edged out by Rams

The game was all but over. Rockdale was nine yards away from the endzone and led Newton 26-21 with just over five minutes to go. On third and nine Steven Montac jumped a route and intercepted a Zuri Minnifield pass and the Rams were back in business at their own five-yard line.

Made it to state

Made it to state

Rockdale County High School Cross country won the combined gender NewRock Championship for the first time in 18 years. Both boys and girls teams have also made it to the state championship after getting runner-up in Region 2 - AAAAAA on October 25.
