HHS Athlete of the Week: Damali Thomas

Damali Thomas has been named the Urban Moo Heritage High School Athlete of the Week for her performance against Newton in Heritage's season opener. Although Asia Caldwell led the team in scoring with 17 points, Thomas was Heritage's floor general, demonstrating strong ball handling skills, and adding nine points.

If cheering was the contest that counted then Heritage was easily the victor, but it didn't. Neither did the many entertaining dance-offs between the fans of the two schools, but what did count was the Ws for both the girls' and boys' varsity basketball teams.

Heritage Athlete of the Week:

Anthony Stanley (3), of Heritage High School, has been selected as The Urban Moo athlete of the week. Stanley replaced the injured David Turner at quarterback and accounted for three total touchdowns (two rushing, one passing) in the Patriot's 18-13 win over Cedar Shoals.

Patriots hold strong against Cedar Shoals

Heritage (2-3, Region 8-AAAAA) came into the game Friday night against Cedar Shoals after an overwhelming loss to Gainesville (4-0, Region 8-AAAAA). But, it was time for the Patriots to get back on track and pick up a region win.
