One Tank Trip: Bear Hollow Zoo

Bear Hollow Zoo in Athens, Georgia has something for everyone. A short drive from Newton and Rockdale counties, this zoo offers a wide variety of wild animals. Here you can find a owls, bears, an American bald eagle and a reptile house with a variety of snakes and alligators. Volunteers educated on each of the animals are on hand to answer questions and offer a hands-on visit with some of the wildlife. The Bear Hollow Zoo is free for all visitors. Zoo hours are 9 to 5 p.m., seven days a week. For more information, call 706-613-3616.

She was born weighing 8 pounds 1 ounce and measuring 19 inches in length. Her maternal grandparents are Tammy Hodgens of Cohutta, Ga. and Bill Hodgens of Snellville, Ga. Her paternal grandparents are Phil Bonnie Malcom of Covington and the late Ernest Johnson of Covington. She is welcomed by older siblings Dylan, 12, Morgan, 9, Kaitlyn, 8, and Waylon, 1.

Canyon Ranch Institute (CRI) invites everyone who volunteers or works in low-income or medically underserved areas to apply for CRI Healthy World Scholarships. The scholarships are for stays at Canyon Ranch in Tucson, Arizona in 2015. Canyon Ranch donated 25 stays to CRI to commemorate the 35th anniversary of Canyon Ranch and to further CRI's efforts to enhance community health and well-being.
