Peachtree Academy art winners

Peachtree Academy art students received numerous awards for their work at the Association of Christian Schools International Art Festival April 5 at Cedarville University in Ohio, including Best of Show.  Kayla Hargrove won the overall Best of Show award, while superior ribbons were awarded to Maxie Maddox, Isabel Collins and Kayla Hargrove. Excellent ribbons were awarded to Jabari Smith, Blake Silvey, Nicole Osborne, Jordan Ozburn, Jannell Torres and Conner Underwood. Good ribbons were awarded to Nicole Osborne, Grayson Hopkins, Zani Dembure and Sydney Reardon. Students were led in Fine Arts Instruction by Samantha Adams.

Eastminster School earned top honors at the National History Day Regional Competition at Kennesaw State University, March 15. Eastminster School exhibits that placed were: First Place - The Decolonization of the British Empire, Second Place - The Berlin Wall, Third Place - The British East India Company. Performances that placed were: Second Place - The Great Railroad Strike of 1877: Worker’s Rights, Government Responsibilities. Eastminster also won web site Second Place - The Criminal Justice System in the Past Fifty Years. RCA gets thumbs up for career academy certification pilot program

Rockdale Career Academy was recently recommended for what would be one of the first certifications of a charter and career academies in the state as part of a pilot program. It is a joint certification coordinated by the Technical College System of Georgia, the Georgia Department of Education-Charter Schools Division, and AdvancED (parent company of SACS).
